Horizon 2020 is the highest budgeted civil research program which will be implemented by European Comission between 2014-2020. This program is based on a special funding system that contains 9 components, all supporting research and innovation. It aims to move research activities one step further reaching beyond the laboratory, and turn academic endeavors into marketable technologies and products with help from the industry. Horizon 2020 aims to develop the technology and science of the future, while forming international partnerships among EU member and associated states and bringing improvements to EU policies to make the Union stronger and more competitive.
The program is open to submissions from industrial organizations, SMEs, SME Associations, universities, research institutes, research centers, public institutions and NGOs, international organizations and individual researchers.
Projects submitted to H2020 should contain innovative and more advanced methods and solutions compared to the existing ones, and be suitable for founding EU-oriented and international consortia.
Preparing a Project Application and Project Consultancy Services for Horizon 2020
We evaluate Work Programs and call eligibility. Work programs designed by the European Commission where project calls are collected are screened by İTÜNOVA TTO, and directed to academics for thorough evaluation. Calls that academics want to take part in are determined and a draft for ‘value chain’ of the project is prepared. Profiles of project partners are identified considering the expectations of European Commission and nature of the call.
Proposal Support: İTÜNOVA TTO provides support from shaping the project idea to proposal writing. In this context, work packages are prepared, impact of the proposal is modified and finance-related sections are completed (gathering and merging budgets of ITU and project partners). İTÜNOVA TTO helps with partner seeking through various channels and obtains administrative information from prospective partners.
Proposal Evaluation: İTÜNOVA TTO reviews project proposals against compatibility with the work program, form and integrity, management, intellectual property and financial structure. After this evaluation, project is another “project approval” is given before application for the last time.
Workshop and Briefing Events: İTÜNOVA TTO organizes efficiency-oriented interactive workshops focused on core groups of academics who decided to write their projects in collaboration with Horizon 2020 specialists. Academics are informed on relevant briefing days and project markets.
Fund finding and proposal consultancy: İTÜNOVA TTO provides consultancy services to academics for joining Horizon2020 projects. İTÜNOVA TTO supplies Horizon2020 guidelines, which must remain privileged and confidential, templates that improve concepts, administrative tables that prepare academics for the participants’ portal, non-disclosure agreements, and financial statements.
